Markets, petting farms, friends, a lizard & cattle. {Our fun & busy weekend – Spring 2015)

Hello!
Last week I told you about how we had a lovely Spring week and that we had a busy weekend ahead full of lots of fun events to attend.
Well, the weekend has been and gone and I thought I would share a few (ok a few more than a few) photos of our fun weekend together.
To start off our Spring weekend Trent and I attended a Toowoomba Carnival Of Flowers event, Bites & Brews Lane – it was located in a laneway and there were markets and lots of delicious food vans and they also had craft beer for sale. LuLu spent a few hours with her Ninny & Poppa that evening while Trent and I headed out. We met up with some friends and decided to head out for dinner together, we were planning on grabbing something to eat at Bites & Brews, but it was just way too crowded. We did return after dinner to grab some churros for dessert.

Yumm… Pasta & wine – delicious!
Churros for dessert!!

On Saturday, we were up early and headed to our local farmers market. This is the first time the Toowoomba Farmers’ Market was held in their new location at the show grounds. It was really good, we saw lots of lovely stalls with beautiful fresh produce. We forgot a cooler bag so we couldn’t get any meat, but we picked up some spinach, potatoes, honey, hand cream and doggie treats! We also enjoyed an early lunch there at the “Picnic in the Paddock” food area – there were some really great food vendors serving up yummy food.

The next market is on Saturday the 31st of October, you can check out more details on the Toowoomba Farmers’ Market Facebook page or their website HERE. It is a great event and if you are local you really should stop by!
When we returned home, Trent found a tiny little lizard. LuLu thought he was just wonderful and loved softly stroking him.

Our little lizard friend!

On Sunday we had another early start for another Toowoomba Carnival Of Flowers event, a Kids Day Out in Queens park. We went to catch up with some friends, LuLu loved walking around holding hands with her best little friend. They checked out the petting farm & we fed a goat, and then we strolled through the markets.

2 petting farms in 2 days!!

We then were on our way down to my parents farm. We brought them sandwiches & cake for lunch and I helped record the NIL numbers for the new cattle they just bought.

Trimming the horns.
Sorry for the over load of cattle pictures, I love taking photos of them!
What’s a post about the farm, without a photo of my Mum’s ‘special’ donkey ,”Donkey”.

So that was our exciting and fun weekend, it was jam packed full of things to do. We don’t often have such busy weekends full of events, we are always busy at home. So it was a nice change to be out & about seeing friends and going to community events.
What did you do on the weekend?
I’ll be back before Friday with an exciting post about some delicious food!
